An introduction to Senart

Senart is 30 years old
  • Created in 1973, Senart is the youngest New Town out of five in Ile de France.
  • Senart is 30 km to the South East of Paris
  • Development : Thirty years ago, the project town of Senart was created by the state right in the heart of a region of more than 800 000 inhabitants (Evry, Corbeil, Melun and Senart).

  • A University Center for 2500 students.
  • The Carré : an area of land including a canal : since 2002, a new generation shopping center has opened with an emphasis on leisure activities and nature.

  • 2015 : 120 000 inhabitants
  • 2015 : 48 000 jobs
  • The Carré in 2015 : 10 000 inhabitants and 10 000 jobs - an aquatic amusement parc is planned - sport, cultural and office equipment are to be added.
